Four Sudanese Protesters on Trial Over Alleged Police Killing
Four Sudanese protesters accused of murdering a police officer appeared in court in Khartoum amid anti-military protests and a heavy police presence. The men, accused of fatally stabbing a police brigadier-general in January, have disputed the accusations leveled against them. This comes as military leader General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan lifted a state of emergency imposed in October and called for the release of people detained under that order. Lucy Fielder of Reuters has this report.
