Following international pressure to halt military operations, Sudanese armed factions reportedly agreed to a 24-hour ceasefire on Tuesday. However, the truce has been violated by renewed gunfire in the capital Khartoum. For more insight, VOA's Mohamed Elshinnawi spoke with Joseph Siegle, director of research at Africa Center for Strategic Studies, who said that the Sudanese conflict will not be resolved by military leaders but rather by regional and civilian engagement.
