South Sudan's military spokesperson has confirmed Monday that two members of the South Sudan People's Defense Forces were apprehended on charges of attacking, looting, and inflicting torture upon civilians within Nyori and Mongo Archdeaconries in Yei Diocese. These incidents are reported to have occurred during the latter part of the previous week. A prominent ecclesiastical figure in Central Equatoria state has expressed strong condemnation for the behaviors exhibited by certain elements of the South Sudan army.
