South Sudanese children, speaking during child-led parliamentary session organized by Save the Children, are calling on the government to guarantee their right to access education. They say armed conflict, poverty, sexual exploitation, early marriage and some cultural practices remain obstacles to education in the country. In response, the undersecretary in South Sudan’s Ministry of General Education and Instruction says the government is working to build more schools and recruit trained teachers to ensure children have access to good quality education. Viola Elias reports from Juba.
