The European Space Agency and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s joint Bepicolombo mission recently made its first of six flybys of Mercury. Multiple flybys are needed to help the spacecraft overcome the Sun’s gravity as it reaches its orbital positions at the planet in December 2025.
