Liberia’s Police Arrests Ballot Box Snatchers
update
Liberian police say they have arrested eight people for tampering with ballot boxes in the vote-rich northwestern county of Nimba, home of long-time Senator Prince Johnson and the vice-presidential candidate of main opposition Unity Party. Meanwhile, the latest provisional results released over the weekend show President George Weah with a slim lead over main challenger Boakai. Inspector General of Police, Colonel Patrick Sudue, tells VOA’s James Butty, the missing ballot boxes were for the legislative vote, not the presidential ballot.
