Gambia’s President Barrow Freezes Official Foreign Travels
update
Gambian President Adama Barrow has suspended all government foreign travel, including for himself, for the rest of the year. Government spokesperson Ebriama Sankareh says travel to meetings where Gambia’s participation is mandatory and trips that are fully funded by external sources are exempted. He tells VOA’s James Butty, the travel freeze is motivated by global events and complaints by Gambians about excessive foreign trips by government officials.
