Gabon’s transitional justice minister says he’s ready to carry out what he calls the heavy responsibilities that come with his appointment. On Saturday, Raymond Ndong Sima named a 26-member transitional government that will ultimately lead Gabon to democratic rule. The new government comprises ministers from the Ali Bongo government, military officers, the opposition, and civil society. The new transitional justice minister is Paul-Marie Gondjout from the National Union party. He tells VOA’s James Butty that part of his responsibility will include reorganizing the Ministry of Justice, including negotiating an end to the six-month old magistrates’ and lawyers’ strike for better salaries and working conditions.
