Listen to fresh new Afropop from South Africa (Sbahle), Nigeria (Simi and Olamide) and Kenya (Gilad ft Eliad); bonga flava from Tanzania (Rayvanny ft Baba Levo) and Malian desert blues (Afel Bocum). Soak in our Song of the Week with Darey Alade’s new single “Jah Guide Me” (Nigeria), and go back in time to vintage folk music from Liberia recorded in 1968 by Music Time in Africa founder Leo Sarkisian.

Today’s featured artist is The Madalitso Band from Malawi. Yobu Maligwa and Yosefe Kalekeni joined me virtually from Lilongwe along with their manager, musician Neil Nayar to talk about the duo’s incredible rise to fame in recent years, and their fresh new single which is a collaboration with an alternative music group Tik Tu (Ukraine). All of this is wrapped up from top to bottom with timeless classic Ghanaian Hiplife (Bise Osei Kuffor), Afrocuban Salsa (Africando) and Angolan semba (Bonga).
