A record rise in prices and a continuous collapse in the value of the Egyptian currency and dissatisfaction with living conditions are coinciding with the end of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's second term and the 2024 presidential elections.  Al-Sisi is yet to announce his intention to run for a third presidential term, to stay in power until 2030.
