Norwegian Refugee Council Secretary General Jan Egeland, who spent the past week in Sudan, tells VOA’s Carol Van Dam that he saw the havoc of war in Darfur. The NRC chief says year and a half of war has spawned a relentless countdown to a near collapse in Sudan, as more than 20 million suffer from violence, hunger, and forced displacement.
