The acting president of Zambia’s main opposition Patriotic Front (PFP) party says President Hakainde Hichilema is paranoid about the public appearances of former President Edgar Lungu. This, after police warned the former president against jogging in public. Lungu usually jogs on Saturdays and is joined by the public. But the police say he should first seek permission because his jogging disrupts the daily lives of citizens. The Zambian police declined a VOA request for an interview but sent us a statement. Patriotic Front acting president Given Lubinda, tells VOA’s James Butty, the warning against jogging could be one of the worst decisions by the government.
